STOTT PILATES Mat Courses
Intensive Mat-Plus (IMP) is a 40-hour course which provides you with the solid foundation and skills you need to develop effective and motivating group and personal training programs with the Level 1 (essential and intermediate) repertoire exercises. At the end of the course you are qualified to design and teach the Level 1 (Essential and Intermediate) Matwork, repertoire, integrating small equipment to add variety and meet the specific needs of your clients. In addition to the general course objectives, you learn:
- Workout composition for personal and group training
- Essential, Intermediate and Power workouts
- Flex-Band®, Fitness Circle® and Arc Barrel workouts
- Modifications for specific body types, postural issues and conditions
- How to incorporate resistance equipment to support and intensify exercises
- Theory and practice of postural analysis
- 63 exercises plus multiple modifications
Prerequisites: Working knowledge of functional anatomy. Minimum 30 hours Pilates classes/workouts. Three-plus years teaching movement of fitness and/or dance ( applicants with a strong history of Pilates participation and/or experience instructing students/clients in another field may also be considered).
Duration: 40 hours of classroom instruction in 8 days. Plus: 10 hours observation; 30 hours physical review; 15 hours practice teaching. Total hours: 95 hours.
CECs: 4.0 STOTT PILATES
Advanced Matwork (AM) is a 6-hour course, which includes a review of Essential and Intermediate exercises learned in IMP and a detailed study of the 13 advanced exercises in the Level 2 repertoire.This one-day course progresses to more advanced material, providing further options and challenges on the mat for highly conditioned clients. Exercises require a high degree of strength, balance and coordination.

- Muscular initiation and sequencing of Advanced level exercises
- Multiple variations for variety and intensity
- 12 exercises

STOTT PILATES Reformer Courses
Intensive Reformer (IR) is a 50-hour course, usually conducted over 10 days, that teaches you to design and lead the Level 1 (Essential and Intermediate) STOTT PILATES Reformer repertoire for personal or group training settings for a range of clients.
In addition to the general course objectives, you will learn:
- Essential, Intermediate and Power workouts
- Effective communication, visual skills, verbal cueing and imagery for performance enhancement and client motivation
- Modifications for specific body types, postural issues and conditions
- Theory behind exercise modification development and usage
- Exercise layering related to effective program design
- 129 exercises plus multiple modifications
Prerequisites: Working knowledge of functional anatomy. Minimum 30 hours Pilates classes/workouts. Three-plus years teaching movement of fitness and/or dance (applicants with a strong history of Pilates participation and/or experience instructing students/clients in another field may also be considered).
Duration: 50 hours of instruction.
Plus: 10 hours observation 40 hours physical review 25 hours practice teaching.
CECs: 5.0 STOTT PILATES
Advanced Reformer (AR) is an 18-hour course, held over 3 days, that teaches 70 exercises in the advanced repertoire that require greater strength, stability and flexibility.
Learn to use the various Reformer components and accessories to intensify Reformer repertoire and provide a stimulating workout for athletes, dancers, and highly conditioned clients. Exercises in the Advanced repertoire require greater strength, stability, and flexibility.
