"I have always been attracted to and inspired by nature and aesthetics of the human body, and what it can accomplish when aligned with the mind and the spirit, whether it be dancing, running, swimming or simply walking.

Since I was a child, I have been fascinated with the human form and its reproduction and interpretation, first through drawing and painting, then becoming passionate about dance.
There is no other discipline or art focused so much on the human form (and soul) as Dance.
I was never interested in getting the perfect shape, I do even not believe this concept exists. What always amazed me is the ability of transformation of the human body. To see and feel that transformation, and overall to drive it.
Anything the mind decides can happen.
Tell me about your body and I will tell you who you are, which work and passions you have.

In my personal experience, I have experienced mental and even spiritual transformation coinciding with physical transformation, where we could speak of the inner body, be it soul, spirit or heart. Therefore the Pilate's method has charmed me for the fastness which such transformations can occur on the body and for its important rehabilitative functions.

Now I am happy to be able to support and promote such a sensible, balanced and effective technique in Joseph Pilate's native country. I am proud to open my door and provide a welcoming space to share my experience with others. My ideal daily training recipe is running (open-air), Yoga, stretching and Pilates.
Pilates is not an aerobic activity so does not serve to lose weight, but I can say that a dynamic approach to the method and a good breathing technique allow a remarkable energy consumption. Combined with running and Yoga I find it the most optimal contemporary psycho-physical training. My aim is to coach my students in an optimal approach for the health and fitness of their body, therefore I integrated my studies with the Pilates Method. Through private, duet and trio sessions, we can work together and realise your own vision."

Deborah Degano STOTT PILATES Full Certified Istructor

Deborah Degano had her first introduction to the Pilates method as a Ballet student in Italy. In 2002 she achieved the diplomas at the triennial professional Dance Academy in Milan and in 2004 she became a Fitness Instructor and Pilates instructor at the Italian Fitness Federation ( F.I.F) working for several years in dance schools and fitness centres in Milan. In 2008, after a previous residency in Berlin, attracted to dance events and Festivals, she moved there permanently. Here she re-approached once more the Pilates technique with new awareness, choosing to expand and specialise her studies. For this purpose she attended the training and certification program STOTT PILATES,a worldwide famous Canadian brand, first in Milan and then in Hamburg. In October 2010 she opened her own Pilate's studio in Berlin.

STOTT PILATES is a contemporary approach to the original method pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates. Co-founders Moira and Lindsay G. Merrithew, along with a team of physical therapists, sports medicine and fitness professionals, have spent more than two decades refining the STOTT PILATES method of exercise and equipment. This resulted in the inclusion of modern principles of exercises science and spinal rehabilitation , making it one of the safest and most effective methods available. This clear and detailed approach forms the basis for STOTT PILATES training and certification programs. It is used by rehab and prenatal clients, athletes, celebrities and everyone in between.
Pilates is a form of exercises that is for everyone. No matter what your age or fitness level, it will work for you transforming dramatically the way your body looks, feels and performs. Like many other kinds of exercise, Pilates increases metabolism, promotes respiratory and circulatory function, and improves bone density and muscle tone. The core concept of Pilates is strengthening of the "Powerhouse" -the central muscle group engirding the abdomen, back and pelvis-.
It builds strength without excess bulk, creating a sleek, toned body with slender thighs, longer and linear musculature and a flat abdomen.
As with Yoga and Martial Arts, Pilates can help you to "get centered" and calm your nerves.
It is this holistic approach that sets Pilates apart from many other forms of exercise. Osteopaths, Physiotherapists and general practitioners recommend Pilates as one of the safest forms of exercise today.
With the Pilates approach to a balanced body it's not necessary to do scores of mindless and repetitive exercises to achieve results:
One precisely executed Pilates session is worth more than several hours at the gym. And afterward you'll feel invigorated, not exhausted.
